Maths Week Question: Week 2

This week you have the answers, it’s your turn to find the question?


Junior/Middle School:
7 is the answer.  
What is the equation?


equation
• a mathematical statement containing an equals sign,
to show that two expressions are equal.
EXAMPLES: 2 + 2 = 4,
5x + 10 = 35




Middle/Senior School:
10 is the fraction of a number what could the number and fraction be?
(experiment with different fractions).

    - 5 + 2 = 7
    - 4 +3 = 7
    6 + 1 = 7
    7 + 0 = 7
    107 - 100 = 7
    7 - 0 = 7

      Great work Room 21 and Group 17. You are starting to use a variety of questions and not just using the addition sign.

    Tekau ma ono
    6 + 1 = 7 and 1 + 6 = 7 (Reversibility rule)
    4 + 3 = 7 and 3 + 4 = 7 (Reversibility rule)
    1 x 7 = 7 and 7 x 1 = 7 (Reversibility rule)
    10 - 3 = 7
    3 + 7 = 10 (Part of our Family of facts)
    20 - 13 = 7 because 10 -3 = 7 and then add another 10 so its becomes 13.

    I like to use tricky ways to answer this Question!
    Like...
    7x1=7 and you switch it around
    Also 20-13=7.
