Making more arrays with the Geoboards

Making arrays and finding the area of a rectangle.
Is this 5 X 4 = 20 or 4 X 5 = 20 or both??

Using geo boards to show an area of 12 squares

Here we are using Geoboards to make a rectangle that has an area of 12 squares.

Sharing Maths facts on arrays

Group 11 are creating their own Maths Facts using an array.
Can you see examples of repeated addition and multiplication?

A perfect example of Maths in nature

In our Sunnyhills School garden we can see wonderful examples of repeated patterns.  Don't they look pretty!

Great strategy today Khan!

13 X 3 = ?

Khan split 13 into 10 and 3.
He then used his 10 times table and his 3 times table knowledge to work out the problem.

Great strategy Khan.

Matching materials and symbols

Showing our 'groups of' (X) using the multi link cubes and arrays and then writing it in a Maths way on our white boards.

Using our active board to make connections

We are using the arrays on our active board to show groups of numbers.

Repeated addition, Multiplication and times means "groups of"
